Claude D. Boone (October 28, 1948 – April 4, 2017) was a life-long Mobilian who truly loved animals. He was surrounded by dogs his entire life and spent his last couple of years with a rescue dog, Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Sara, son Josh Boone (Lindsey) and daughter Amy Boone Trusgnich (Kyle). His grand-dogs include Denny, Ellie, Fisher, Bayley and Sierra. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked to help honor his legacy by donating to Delta Dogs.

Delta Dogs is a non-profit, community supported organization that believes that a person’s ability to provide love and compassion to their pets is not based on their net worth. Our mission is to provide veterinary healthcare and free spay and neuter services to the treasured pets of city of Mobile’s community in need. Sadly, Mobile has a high poverty level and large homeless and transitional population, including several large homeless camps in wooded areas. Many people struggle to provide the basic care for their pets – food, vaccines, flea and tick treatment, heartworm preventatives, spay/neuter, etc. We provide on-site care in communities in need with licensed Veterinarians, as well as at Clinics, so the people who utilize our services can feel comfortable that their pet’s healthcare needs are met. Delta Dogs is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization (tax identification number 47-1605219) under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
